Akron Falls To Utah State on Monday, 65-62

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands-Â Enrique Freeman notched a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds in the Akron men's basketball team's 65-62 defeat on Monday to Utah State.
Two other Zips (4-1) joined Freeman in double-figure scoring. Both Greg Tribble and Sammy Hunter added 12 points.
How It Happened
After falling behind 22-21, Akron went on a 5-0 run with 6:10 left in the first half to take a 26-22 lead. The Zips then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 33-29.
Akron narrowed its deficit to 39-36 before going on a 5-0 run to seize a 41-39 lead with 15:02 to go in the contest. Utah State re-asserted control, outscoring the Zips 26-21 the rest of the way to hand Akron the 65-62 loss. Akron made the most of five offensive rebounds to tack on five second-chance points out of 33 total in the period.
