AKRON, Ohio - Buoyed by a goal in each half, Western Michigan dealt the University of Akron women's soccer team a 2-0 setback on Thursday (Oct. 5) at FirstEnergy Stadium.
How it Happened
The Broncos netted a goal in the fourth minute from Emily Pagett before adding a second tally in the 60th minute from Abby Werthman to secure its third Mid-American Conference victory.
Freshman GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Akron with eight saves. The Zips totaled two shots, one of them on goal, while Akron faced 17 Western Michigan shots, 10 of them on net.
