AKRON, Ohio - A late goal lifted Ball State past the University of Akron women's soccer team, 2-1, on Thursday (Oct. 12) at FirstEnergy Stadium.
How it Happened
Ball State started the scoring in the affair when Avery Fenchel scored in the 17th minute, assisted by Maya Turner and Maya Millis.
The Zips leveled the game on a goal from junior Ella Hadley (Concord, Ohio) - her second goal of the season - in the 32nd minute, assisted by freshman Anna Simmons (Manassas, Va.).
Ball State then broke the 1-1 tie on Fenchel's 87th-minute goal, assisted by Kaitlyn Fraser.
Game Notes
- Freshman GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded two saves for the Zips out of 10 total Cardinals shots.
- Akron collected a season-high 25 shots, including a season-best 11 shots on goal.
