AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron track and field redshirt sophomore Jimmy Harkelroad (Huron, Ohio) placed third in the men's 400 meters to direct the Zips' efforts on the final day of the Penn State National on Saturday, Jan. 28.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Harkelroad placed third in the men's 400 meters in a time of 48.59.
• Senior Nuh Andu (Doha, Qatar) finished fourth in the men's high jump with a mark of 6-8 (2.03m).
• Redshirt sophomore Jean Dieuvil (North Miami Beach, Fla.) recorded a career-best time of 1:21.21 to finish fourth in the men's 600 meters.
• Redshirt junior Caleb Mabins (Erie, Pa.) posted a mark of 48-1.75 (14.67m) to place fifth in the men's triple jump.
• The men's distance medley relay team of redshirt senior Oliver Huffman (Augusta, Ga.) and freshmen Silas Bush (Springfield, Ohio), Zayd Elkurd (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) and Brian Masai (Kitale, Kenya) posted the fifth-fastest time in indoor program history crossing the line in 9:55.98. The performance is also rated 25th in the NCAA this season.
