Freshman Ask Ekeland and junior Torge Wittborg lead Penn State with a team-best three goals each, while sophomore Maxi Hopfer paces the squad in shots (27) and shots on goal (11) and junior Nate Dragisich in assists (6). Senior GK Domenic Nascimben has pulled in 38 saves en route to posting a 0.38 goals against average and five shutouts.
As a team, the Dukes are ranked first in the NCAA in save percentage (.929), third in goals against average (.375), fourth in shutout percentage (.625), fifth in winning percentage (.875), 11th in goal differential (13), 15th in saves per game (4.88), 32nd in total assists (16), 38th in assists per outing (2.00), 39th in points per tilt (6.00), 40th in scoring offense (2.00) and total points (48) and 43rd in total goals (16).
Individually, Nascimben is rated first in the NCAA in shutouts (5), second in save percentage (.927), third in goals against average (.375), seventh in total saves (38), 17th in saves per game (4.75) and 22nd in goalie minutes played (720:00). Wednesday evening's game is the second all-time meeting between Akron and Duquesne. The Zips and Dukes battled to a 1-1 double-overtime draw on Sept. 8, 1996 in the only previous encounter between the two schools.

Since 2007, the Akron men's soccer program has posted the highest winning percentage in the nation (.745), with an overall record of 227-65-38. The Zips are followed by Wake Forest, 218-67-38 (.734), Maryland, 216-68-46 (.724), North Carolina, 206-73-48 (.703) and Creighton, 202-82-34 (.689). Akron made 12 straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2007-18), earning a first-round bye in eight seasons. The Zips have advanced to the NCAA's Round of 16 in eight of their last 12 NCAA Tournament appearances. Since 1961, the Zips have advanced to the NCAA postseason 34 times, including 18 of the past 21 seasons.
