David Earns MAC Golfer of the Week

Richmond, Ky. – Sophomore Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) was named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for her performance at the 2022 Colonel Classic, the league announced Thursday.

David finished the Colonel Classic fourth overall with a 5-over par 221 performance after leading the field at the completion of 36-holes of play, while the Akron golf team finished sixth overall 295-308-313 – 916 (+52) at the University Club at Arlington.

David opened the tournament with a 2-under par 70 performance, collecting four birdies and 12 par scores to go along with two bogeys. She carried the momentum into the second 18-hole round by registering five birdies and nine par scores mixed with four bogeys for a 1-under par 71 effort. David's 3-under par total led the field after 36 holes of play, and she registered an 80 (+8) ledger to finish the tournament fourth overall.

The Zips are scheduled to be back in action at Bowling Green's Dolores Black Falcon Invite on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10 at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
