AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron lacrosse team returns to Mid-American Conference action this Wednesday, March 9, as the Zips welcome Robert Morris to InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field for a 3 p.m. match.

SCOUTING AKRON:
Directing Akron's offensive exploits this season has been the duo of junior Alexis Kiefer (West Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), who own 47 and 30 shots, respectively. Kiefer, Boyd and freshman Izzy Szejk (Camp Hill, Pa.) have posted a team-high 14, 13 and six goals, respectively, while Boyd has registered team-best marks in assists (3), points (16), draw controls (45) and ground balls (23), while ranking second in goals (13) and shots (30). Sophomore GK Ashley Lapp (Missouri City, Texas) has turned in 61 saves for Akron on the year.

Kiefer rates first in the MAC in shots (47), second in shots per outing (6.71), fourth in goals (14) and seventh in overall points (14) and goals per game (2.00). Boyd is ranked fourth in assists (3), sixth in goals (6) and points (16), seventh in shots (30), ninth in overall assists (3) and goals per game (1.86) and 10th in shots per contest (4.29). Lapp ranks second in the conference in goals against average (11.47) and saves (61), third in saves per tilt (8.71) and fourth in save percentage (.466).

Akron is meeting Robert Morris for the fourth time in program history with the Zips trailing the all-time series, 3-0. The Colonials are off to a 2-4 start on the campaign, including a 2-0 mark in league play, following a 18-5 setback at Liberty on Saturday, March 5. Freshman Jenna Irwin directs the Robert Morris offensive attack with team-high marks in goals (13), points (14), shots (23) and shots on goal (17), while ranking third in ground balls (6) and caused turnovers (4). Senior GK Jamie Keller has collected 36 saves on the campaign for the Colonials. Robert Morris is led by fifth-year head coach Katrina Silva, who owns a 42-23 ledger as a head coach and is 168-138 in her 19th overall campaign as a head coach.

Goalkeeper Ashley Lapp is rated eighth in the NCAA in saves (61), 30th in save percentage (.466), 41st in saves per game (8.71) and 44th in goals against average (11.47). Boyd is ranked 15th in ground balls per tilt (3.29) and 21st in draw controls per contest (6.43), while Alexis Kiefer is 17th in free position percentage (.750), 32nd in shots on goal per tilt (5.29), 41st in shots per outing (6.71) and 50th in free position shots per game (0.86) to go along with juniors Jenna Ridener (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Abby McMullen (Medina, Ohio) rating 39th in caused turnovers per match (2.00).
