AKRON, Ohio - A strong second-quarter scoring surge lifted Robert Morris (3-4, 3-0 MAC) past the University of Akron women's lacrosse team, 10-6, in Mid-American Conference action on Wednesday, March 9 at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore Chloe Hererra (Houston, Texas) opened the scoring in the match delivering her fourth goal of the season for the Zips (2-6, 1-2 MAC) at the 13:06 mark of the opening quarter off an assist from junior Abby McMullen (Medina, Ohio).
• The Colonials netted the next two tallies before junior Alexis Kiefer (West Chicago, Ill.) connected on the equalizer with 3:48 left in the first quarter courtesy of an assist from junior Sarah Pattison (Cincinnati, Ohio).
• Akron regained the lead, 3-2, after sophomore Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) found the back of the net off an assist from junior Kaija Kunttu (Zionsville, Ind.) with 9:56 remaining before halftime.
• Robert Morris responded with three unanswered tallies to close the half to enter the intermission leading 5-3.
• The Colonials scored the only two goals of the third quarter to extend their margin to 7-3.
• Kiefer opened the fourth quarter scoring her second of three goals on the afternoon with an assist to freshman Kylie Harris (Lake Norman, N.C.) at the 12:29 mark.
• Boyd delivered her second tally of the match at the 9:44 mark via a free position shot to cut the Zips' deficit to 8-5.
• The Colonials struck for back-to-back goals before Kiefer capped the scoring in the contest with her team-leading 17th goal of the season with 4:12 left in the match.
• Sophomore GK Ashley Lapp (Missouri City, Texas) made nine saves in net for Akron.
• The Zips posted a 26-25 edge in shots on the afternoon, with Robert Morris bettering Akron in shots on goal, 19-18.
• Boyd and Kiefer directed the Zips' offensive attack with a match-high nine and seven shots, respectively, including seven and five shots on goal.
