MOUNT PLEASANT, MICH. - The University of Akron lacrosse team suffered a 13-7 Mid-American Conference setback at the hands of Central Michigan on Wednesday, March 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Chippewas began the contest scoring the first five goals to assume a 5-0 lead before junior Alexis Kiefer (West Chicago, Ill.) netted her team-leading 21st goal of the season at the 2:22 mark of the opening quarter for the Zips.
• Senior Anna Dennison (Fallston, Md.) connected on a tally at the 9:59 mark of the second quarter for Akron off an assist from sophomore Anjali Silverheels (Hamburg, N.Y.).
• The Chippewas led at the half, 11-2.
• Sophomore Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) delivered her 20th goal of the season for the Zips at the 4:26 mark of the third quarter.
• Freshman Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) and Kiefer added tallies with 10:12 and 9:16, respectively, left in the match for Akron.
• Junior Kaija Kunttu (Zionsville, Ind.) added a free position goal with 4:30 left on the clock for the Zips before Kiefer capped the scoring for Akron with her third tally of the day with eight seconds left in the match.
• Boyd and Kiefer led Akron with a team-high four shots apiece.
• Sophomore GK Ashley Lapp (Missouri City, Texas) made nine saves for the Zips.
