PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The University of Akron lacrosse team was bested in its final non-conference showdown of the season on Monday, March 28, as Pittsburgh earned an 18-6 victory past the Zips.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) scored the first of her match-high four goals on the afternoon for the Zips at the 3:21 mark of the second quarter.
• Boyd opened the scoring in the third quarter connecting on her 21st goal of the season (at the 10:24 mark). She later delivered a man-down power-play tally on a free position attempt with 4:49 remaining in the stanza.
• Boyd struck for her team-leading 23rd goal of the season on a successful free position attempt with 2:28 left in the third quarter.
• Sophomore Chloe Hererra (Houston, Texas) scored her fifth goal of the year with 10:01 remaining in the game off an assist from junior Abby McMullen (Medina, Ohio).
• Sophomore Anjali Silverheels (Hamburg, N.Y.) capped the scoring in the match delivering her eighth goal of the season off another McMullen assist with six seconds left on the clock.
• Boyd led Akron with a match-high seven shots.
• Sophomore GK Ashley Lapp (Missouri City, Texas) made seven saves for the Zips.
