The Badgers took a 4-2 lead in the third after Wisconsin scored three runs on one hit after the Zips committed two errors. Akron had a chance to even the score in the fourth with the tying run at the plate, but Akron was unable to capitalize and Wisconsin would secure the 4-2 victory.
