TALLAHASSEE QUARTERBACK CLUB (TQC) FOUNDATION BILETNIKOFF AWARD WATCH LIST
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – University of Akron senior WR Shocky Jacques-Louis (Fort Myers, Fla.) was named by The Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc., the Florida-based creator and sponsor of the prestigious Biletnikoff Award to the 2022 Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
A dynamic playmaker for the Zips, Jacques-Louis has pulled in a team- and Mid-American Conference-best 61 catches this season for a team-leading 770 yards, including a pair of touchdowns. Averaging 12.6 yards per reception, he has surpassed the 100-yard receiving plateau in four games on the campaign, including a season-high 152 yards at Ohio on Oct. 8, while registering 103 yards on the strength of nine catches at No. 1 Tennessee on Sept. 17.
Jacques-Louis is ranked fifth in the NCAA (FBS) in receptions (61), 12th in receptions per game (6.8), 14th in receiving yards (770) and 25th in receiving yards per contest (85.6), while also rating 27th in kickoff returns (23.5), 33rd in all-purpose yards (119.78) and 34th in combined kick returns (308).
He leads the MAC in receiving yards (770) and receptions per game (6.8), while ranking second in receiving yards per tilt (85.6). Through Akron's first five league games, Jacques-Louis has pulled in a conference-best 40 catches for a league-leading 8.0 receptions per game on the strength of 94.6 yards per outing.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football's outstanding receiver, not merely college football's outstanding wide receiver.
The semifinalists, finalists, and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 610 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners, and other former receivers.
Receivers are frequently added to the watch list as their season performances dictate. Actual, not potential, performance is the basis for inclusion on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
Recently, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation opened the 2022 FanVote. Every fan may vote once daily on the Biletnikoff Award FanVote page. The aggregate fan tally will be counted as one official vote to determine semifinalists (10 receivers), finalists (three receivers), and the winner.
The 2022 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented the Biletnikoff Award trophy by TQC Foundation Chairman Mark Ryan and the banquet keynote speaker Drew Pearson, member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, at the black-tie Biletnikoff Award Banquet & Celebration at the Dunlap Champions Club, at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
The TQC Foundation's charitable mission is the provision of college and vocational scholarships to North Florida high school seniors who have overcome significant barriers to achieve at the highest academic and extracurricular levels. Participation in sports is not a requirement. The Foundation has provided over 300 scholarships with benefits exceeding four million dollars through 2022.
