Yorktown, Ind. – The Akron golf team posted the second tournament win in as many weeks as the Zips fired a 304-305-303 - 912 (+48) team total at the Ball State Cardinal Classic on Tuesday at The Players Course.

Akron entered the final round tied for first place with Fort Wayne and the Zips carded a 303 (+15) final round team tally to remain in the top spot at the par 72, 6,204-yard course. Mid-American Conference foe finished runner-up with a 915 (+51) tournament total.

Sophomore Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) led the Zips' scoring with a 226 (+10), registering a final-round 73 (+1) performance mixed with 75 (+3) and 78 (+6) scores. David finished tied for eighth overall. Finishing in the Top 20 were graduate transfer Ke'Asha Phillips (Owensboro, Ky.) and senior Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio). Phillips placed 12^th overall with 77-77-75 – 229 (+13) scores and Pearce placed 16^th overall with 75-74-81 – 230 (+14) scores. Rounding out the Zips scoring were, junior Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) and sophomore Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) with 232 (+16) and 235 (+19) scores, respectively.

Akron's win marked the second time in program history the team won back-to-back tournaments.

The Zips will be back in action for the last tournament in the Fall session on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 4-5 at the Shirley Spork EMU Invite hosted by Eastern Michigan at Eagle Crest Golf Clubin Ypsilanti, Mich.
