AKRON, Ohio - The ninth-rated University of Akron rifle team is set to square off against No. 2 Kentucky on Saturday, Nov. 20, as the Zips travel to Lexington, Ky., for a 8 a.m. Great America Rifle Conference match with the Wildcats.

Senior Wyatt Openshaw (Parkton, Md.) leads Akron's performances this season with a team-best combined air and smallbore rifle average of 1168.33. Senior Andre Gross (Webster, N.Y.) and sophomore Kayla Andreoli (Washington, Pa.) are close behind in the season statistics, registering combined averages of 1168.29 and 1167.57, respectively.

In the smallbore rifle, Gross maintains a team-high average of 581.14, while the air rifle is headlined by sophomore Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio), who boasts a team-best 589.14 average.

Andreoli, Gross, senior Jeanne Haverhill (Coopersburg, Pa.), freshman Alexis Kirk (Clarence Center, N.Y.), Openshaw, Perkowski, junior Jakob Rankin (Granbury, Texas), sophomore Erin Schnupp (Gorham, Maine), junior Brendan Seitz (Milford, Mass.), sophomore Samantha Shultz (Fort Wayne, Ind.), senior Rebecca Spencer (Avella, Pa.) and sophomore Cory Stroupe (Brasstown, N.C.) are scheduled to compete for Akron this weekend.
