YPSILANTI, Mich.- The Akron volleyball team fell to Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon, 3-1, (20-25, 25-22, 17-25, 21-25) at the Convocation Center.
Teagan Ochaya (Mentor, Ohio) registered a match-high 17 kills on a .424 hitting percentage, while Alexis Adleta (West Chester, Ohio) joined in double-figures 15 kills to lead the Zips' offense. Emily Weigand (Burton, Ohio) added 39 assists.
Akron's block was effective and finished the contest with 12 scuffs. Karleighana Jones (White Plains, N.Y.) and Ochaya led the way with three blocks each, while Weigand and Megan Kelly (Lakewood, Ill.) each recorded two blocks.
Taylor Sharrits (Concord, Ohio) tallied 15 digs to lead the floor defense, while Lauren Latka (Zionsville, Ind.) tallied double-figure digs with 12.

Akron will host a series with Northern Illinois on Nov. 5-6. The Zips will open the series on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., before closing the series on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. at James A. Rhodes Arena.
