AKRON, Ohio - We continue updates from across the country and the world in what we like to call Postcards from The Zips. Up next, from men's basketball is Akron senior Maishe Dailey (Beachwood, Ohio).
Â
First off, are you and your family doing well?
Good, we are all healthy.
Â
Where are you currently?
Akron, Ohio.
Â
If you went home, talk about the importance of having your family around as we went through quarantine?
I live close, so I am able to go home often. Having family close is really good for me because most of my team is gone because of the coronavirus. Family also provides support and stability at all times.
Â
Can you describe what it has means to be a Zip, especially during this time?
Being a Zip is special to me. I wear the Z across my chest with pride out in public because I know the hard work and pride all Zips have.
Â
How are you feeling knowing that you'll be back on campus soon?
I'm not sure, I want to get back to campus ASAP so we can get ready for the upcoming season, but at the same time, the virus is still alive and well.
Â
What is daily life like knowing that you had been expected to stay inside?
My day has been pretty routine for the entire lockdown. I wake up early in the morning and workout, then get some work done in the summer class that I'm currently in, then I usually take a few naps to pass by the time of day, I usually get another workout in later in the day... along with eating everything in the kitchen.
Â
Favorite summertime activities?
Summer workouts with the team and that goes with meeting my new teammates in the process.
Â
What are some shows or movies that you have enjoyed watching while in quarantine?
Ozark, Prison Break, Money Heist.
