PITTSBURGH, Pa. – University of Akron lacrosse fell to Duquesne, 25-2, Wednesday evening in Pittsburgh, Pa.

With the loss, Akron falls to 0-7 while Duquesne improves to 3-3.Â
Â
Leading the way for Akron was sophomore Kaylee Riggins (Zionsville, Ind.) and freshman Abby Schaefer (Beaver Falls, Pa.) who each found the back of the net for the Zips.
Â
Defensively, the Zips were able to cause six turnovers and gather nine ground balls. Freshman goalkeeper Abby Lerch (Coraopolis, Pa.) brought in 19 saves while leading the team in ground balls with two.

The Zips will be back in action on Sunday, March 15 as they play host to Central Michigan at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field at 1 p.m.
