Jascoe Named MAC Player Of The Week, Second Straight For Akron Softball

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- For the second week in a row, an Akron softball student-athlete earned Mid-American Conference honor as redshirt junior Sydney Jascoe (Commerce, Mich.) was named MAC Player of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.Â
In weekend #2 of the 2020 softball season, the Akron Zips offense scored 44 runs on 59 hits and was led by Jascoe. The Zips third baseman recorded a .563/1.188/.650 slash line on the strength of nine hits, four walks, one double, three home runs, and totaled nine bases. Jascoe drove in 12 RBI and scored eight runs which accounted for 17 runs on the weekend. Her three home runs on the weekend bumped her season total to 6 which leads the Mid-American Conference.

In the first two games of the Madeira Beach Tournament, Jascoe went a combined 5-for-9, scored five runs, three home runs, and eight RBI. Jascoe hit a weekend-best three hits against the Coyotes and tallied a weekend-best two home runs and six RBI against the Bears.Â
Against big east opponent, Butler, to close out the weekend, Jascoe went a perfect 2-for-2, a double, RBI, and run scored.
