Akron Women’s Lacrosse Inks 14 to National Letters of Intent

AKRON, Ohio – Akron women's lacrosse head coach Christy Mitchell announced the signing of 14 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent who will join the Zips' program in 2020-21.
"Building the foundation of this team is one of the most exciting parts of my position," Mitchell said. "The new class of committed players are not only super talented and athletic, but their academic strength and personal characteristics will connect well with the current team and help move us all in the direction we are hoping to go."
The class features a mix of athletes from various locations throughout the country, as the 14 students hail from eight different states, including four from Ohio.
Additionally, all 14 are high school seniors. Six are listed at attack, five at midfield, two on defense, and one at goalkeeper.
Eight of the signees played at least one other sport in high school.
Akron women's lacrosse begins competitive play on Feb. 14, 2020, at Presbyterian College.
