Akron to Wear Black Jerseys for Home Opener

AKRON, Ohio – For its home opener today (Sept. 8), the University of Akron football team will wear black jerseys, gold pants, and white helmets for its 3:30 p.m. game with Morgan State at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.

The Zips, who were slated to wear blue uniforms, were forced to wear their old-school black jerseys as their new blue uniforms were subjected to supply chain and logistics issues this week.

Additionally, eight players will wear alternate numbers for this game only.

Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all home games as well as a parking pass— start at only $60 each. As a season ticket holder, fans have the ability to purchase tickets for road games at Northwestern and Iowa State.
