AKRON, Ohio— Zips LIVE, presented by Lee Hyder and Associates, will kick off the 2018-19 basketball season on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 7-8 p.m. ET at the Spaghetti Warehouse (510 South Main Street) with head men's basketball coach John Groce and head women's basketball coach Melissa Jackson.

Fans, students, and the public are encouraged to attend the live broadcasts every week.

Bill Morgan hosts the weekly hour-long radio show covering Akron Athletics, which will be held on Thursdays during the season. The show airs locally on Akron-IMG Sports Network flagship Fox Sports Radio 1350 AM (WARF). The broadcast can also be heard via web stream on the WARF homepage (click on the Listen Live tab in the top left corner). Podcasts are available on iHeart Radio.

Men's basketball (6-2 overall) travels to Purdue Fort Wayne tonight (Dec. 5) for 7 p.m. game. Following a 10-day break for final exams, the Zips return to Rhodes Arena to host Marshall on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m.

Women's basketball (5-1), which defeated St. Bonaventure today, 67-58 during its annual Education Day game, hosts Butler on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at Rhodes Arena.
