Three Student-Athletes Sign NLI To Compete For Akron Women's Soccer

AKRON, Ohio– The Akron women's soccer team and head coach Noreen Herlihy announced the signing of three student-athletes to a National Letter of Intent, on Thursday.Â

Joining the Zips in the fall of 2019 are Bailee Bowers (Dublin, Ohio), Emily Clopp (Canonsburg, Pa.), and Rielyn Hamilton (Burlington, Ky.).Â

"We look forward to having Rielyn, Bailee, and Emily join the Zips. They are coming into a program moving forward and are excited to help us attain our goals over the next few years, said Herlihy. "They will be welcomed by eager teammates who are already looking forward to next season. We have no doubt each of them will contribute to the Akron program and know they will enjoy all that Akron has to offer."

High School: Earned three varsity letters in soccer at Canon McMillan High School … captured the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championship in her junior season … following her senior year, was named to the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League All-Section Team, earned the Wendy's Heisman Athlete Award, and scored 14 goals and seven assists to post the fifth-highest leading scorer in the WPIAL Section.Â

High School: Four-time varsity letterwinner at Boone County High School … a three-time member of the Kentucky All-State team and Region 9 First-Team selection (2016-18) … in her career, scored 137 goals and posted 36 assists, including a career-best 37 goals in her senior season and 13 assists as a junior … after her final season of competition, was named the East-Side player of the year, Northern Kentucky Player of the Year, and was an All-American and Miss Kentucky Soccer and Player of the Year candidate … as a junior, was earned NKU Co-Offensive Player of the Year accolades and was named a United Coaches Association All-Star. Â
