Akron Softball Ranked Top 30 in NFCA Academic Team Honors

LOUISVILLE, K.y.– The Akron softball team was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association with a top 30 ranking in the organization's academic team honors.
The Zips finished tied for 30th overall for the highest team GPA (3.500) out of 107 schools, which also ranks as the second-highest program from the Mid-American Conference.
The rankings recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across seven membership divisions of the NFCA.
The first pitch of the 2019 Akron softball season is scheduled to be thrown on Feb. 8, as the Zips travel to the Blue Hose Invitational hosted by Presbyterian College.
