Cleveland, Ohio – Junior Pader Her (Holt, Mich.) was named Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for her performance at the MSU Spring Citrus Challenge, the league announced on Friday.
Her led Akron's team scoring at the three-day, 54-hole MSU Spring Citrus Challenge hosted by Morehead State at the par-72, 5,929-yard RedTail Golf Club. She finished fourth overall with a 3-over par 219 tournament total.
Her used three solid rounds of play to finish in the Top 5 after reach round. She opened the MSU event with an even-par 72, tying for third after the initial 18-hole round. She followed with a 74 (+2) second round effort, which led to a fourth place ranking on the leaderboard after 36 holes. On the final round, Her carded a 1-over par 73 to remain fourth overall.
Akron finished the tournament sixth overall with a 916 (+52) team total, improving last season's 14th place showing by 15 strokes.
Akron will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, March 27-28, at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. At Kingsmill Resort.
