Zips softball announces fall schedule

AKRON, Ohio –Akron softball head coach Julie Jones announced the team is set to play fall ball starting in September.
The Zips are scheduled to make their fall debut on Frieday, Sept. 11, in Youngstown to face off against the Penguins of Youngstown State. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. One day later, the team will travel back to Akron to play host to Ashland University at Lee Jackson Field at noon.
On Sept. 26, the Zips have a scheduled doubleheader at home. They welcome in Youngstown State for game one of the twinbill at 10 am. In the afternoon the Zips take on Notre Dame College of Ohio at 2 p.m.
In October, the Zips will play three games to round out the fall ball season. First on Oct. 2, the team will travel cross-town to go up against their MAC rival Kent State at 5 p.m. Another doubleheader against Cleveland State is set to take place on Oct. 10. First pitch is at noon followed immediately by game two with an estimated start time of 2 p.m.
