Women's Golf Opens 2015 at MAC Match Play Challenge on Monday

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron women's golf team will open its 2015 spring schedule on Monday at the Mid-American Conference Match Play Challenge at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
Including the Zips, seven of the nine MAC programs will be at the event, including Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Ohio and Western Michigan. IPFW will round out the eight-team field.
All eight teams will play a total of three matches, including two on Monday and one on Tuesday. Play is set to begin at 8 a.m. ET on Monday. Fans can follow all of the action via Golfstat Live Scoring.
The Zips will open play against Bowling Green, with the first pair of players set to tee off from the No. 10 tee at 8 a.m.
Akron finished last year's match play challenge in eighth place, falling 3-2 to Western Michigan and Cleveland State, and dropping a 4-1 decision to Ohio. Laura Murray posted a 2-1-0 mark winning her first two matches of the week before falling in her final match.
UA has not competed since October 15, finishing in fifth place at the Rocket Classic. Frida Fougberg posted a top-five finish in the event, her third top-five finish of the fall.
