Nagbe and Yedlin Added to USMNT World Cup Qualifying Roster

CHICAGO, Ill. - A pair of former University of Akron men's soccer standouts in Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers) and DeAndre Yedlin (Sunderland) have been added to the 23-man U.S. national soccer team roster for the first two 2018 World Cup qualifiers this month by U.S. Men's National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
Receiving his first call up to the senior National Team after becoming a United States citizen in September was Nagbe, who is one of 10 players looking to make their debut in World Cup Qualifying competition.
Yedlin has appeared in 17 of the 18 MNT matches in 2015 and has tallied four assists.
The USA's first match of 2018 World Cup Qualifying campaign is set for Nov. 13 against St. Vincent & the Grenadines and kicks off at Busch Stadium in St. Louis at 5:30 p.m. CT.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN2, WatchESPN, UniMas and the Univision Deportes Network.
The MNT was drawn into Group C for the Semifinal Round of Qualifying along with St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago and Guatemala. Following the match in St. Louis, the USA will travel to Port of Spain for the away leg with Trinidad, which will be played Nov. 17 and broadcast on beIN Sports and NBC Universo at 6:30 p.m. ET.
