Zips Football Future Schedules

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron football team will face Big Ten Conference opponent Wisconsin during the 2016 season, the UW Department of Athletics announced on Friday.

The Zips and Badgers will meet for the third time at Camp Randall Stadium on Sept. 10, 2016. The series began during the 2003 season, when then No. 18-ranked UW topped UA 48-31. Akron opened the 2008 season at then No. 12-ranked Wisconsin, giving up a 38-17 decision.

Including a game at then No. 11-ranked Michigan earlier this season, the Zips have faced 15 Big Ten teams since the start of the 2001 season. UA opens the 2014 campaign at Penn State on Sept. 6.
