Women's Golf Enters Final Round of Nittany Lion Invite in 13th Place

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The University of Akron women's golf team will enter the final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational in 13th place at the Penn State Golf Course following the second round on Saturday.
The Zips posted a round of 312 (+24) to finish with a two-day score of 628 (+52). Tournament-host and No. 37-ranked Penn State holds a 20-shot lead on the field with a score of 575 (-1).
Freshman Frida Fougberg and redshirt senior Hanna Ek tied for the top round for Akron on the day, carding rounds of 5-over 77. Fougberg is tied for 42nd place (155, +11) while Ek is tied for 60th place (158, +14).
Sophomore Laura Murray is tied for 56th place with a two-day score of 157 (+13) following a round of 8-over 80 while junior Sara Chaves is tied for 66th place (160, +16). Chaves posted her second-consecutive round of 80 (+8).
Redshirt senior Tyler Etcheberry is alone in 73rd place entering the final round with a two-round score of 161 (+17). Freshman Sierra Everson rounded out the squad in a tie for 87th place (169, +25).
Round three is set to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET. Fans can follow the scores live via Golfstat Live Scoring.
