Women's Golf Travels to Pennsylvania for Nittany Lion Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's golf team will finish a busy stretch in the fall schedule this weekend when it travels to State College, Pa., for the Nittany Lion Invitational on Sept. 28-30.
This will be the third tournament for the Zips in 10 days as UA played in the Cardinal Cup Sept. 17-18 and the Wolverine Invitational Sept. 22-23.
The 17-team field will include Bucknell, Cincinnati, No. 83 College of Charleston, Columbia, Georgetown, No. 92 Harvard, Longwood, No. 39 Minnesota, Monmouth, Ohio, Old Dominion, No. 79 Penn State (host), No. 89 Princeton, No. 82 Western Michigan, William & Mary, and No. 75 Yale.
Round one will begin with a shotgun start on Friday at noon ET with rounds two and three set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday and Sunday. Fans can follow the scores live via Golfstat Live Scoring.
Akron returns to the course just five days after finishing the Wolverine Invitational in ninth place. Poor weather conditions, including rain and cold temperatures, hampered play all weekend on a very tough course. The Zips finished with a total score of 981 (+129).
Laura Murray led the way for UA, finishing tied for 38th place with a score of 244 (+31). Sara Chaves and Hanna Ek concluded the weekend in a group tied for 41st place (246, +33).
