Women's Golf Returns to Action Monday at Cardinal Cup

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's golf team returns to action on Monday when it travels to Simpsonville, Ky., for the Cardinal Cup hosted by the University of Louisville.
The two-day event will include two rounds of golf on Monday followed by the third and final round on Tuesday. Play on both Monday and Tuesday will begin with a shotgun start at 8:40 a.m. ET. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.com.
The Zips will face off against Bradley, Charleston Southern, No. 73 Chattanooga, Cincinnati, No. 68 East Tennessee, No. 80 Georgia State, Illinois State, No. 95 James Madison, tournament-host and No. 61-ranked Louisville, No. 52 Maryland, No. 88 Missouri, Rollins College, No. 92 UNC Wilmington and No. 65 UNC Greensboro.
Last time out, Akron used strong performances by freshman Frida Fougberg, redshirt senior Tyler Etcheberry and sophomore Laura Murray to finish the Redbird Invitational on Sept 9-10.
Fougberg, playing in her first collegiate event, finished tied for 13th place with a two-day total of 231 (+15). Etcheberry finished 40th with a score of 242 (+26). Murray, playing as an individual, tied her career-best finish with a tie for sixth place (229, +13).
The Zips finished five shots outside the top five, tallying a score of 941 (+72) over the three-round event.
