AKRON, Ohio – The Zips football team spent three hours practicing inside InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field on Tuesday morning. It was the squad's 19th workout of preseason training camp.
First-year head coach Terry Bowden visited with GoZips.com after the session and explained that the program's attention has completely shifted to preparation for the season opener.
The Zips will hold a night practice on Wednesday.
UA gets the season underway versus Central Florida on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. ET at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field. The opener will be carried by ESPN3.
Zips Notebook: UA Athletics will hold a Kickoff Luncheon on Aug. 24 at noon and "Hoppy Hour", a pre-game professional networking event prior to the season opener on Aug. 30 ... to reserve a spot at either event, fans need to contact the ticket office at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) ... Zips Athletics will host a Social Media Night in conjunction with its season opener on Aug. 30 ... five randomly selected fans who buy a ticket through this special Facebook promotion will be eligible for media credentials and will be asked to engaged social media channels from the press level of InfoCision Stadium.
