Kristen Hill Named MAC Co-Golfer of the Week

For the second time in three weeks, University of Akron's Kristen Hill has been named the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week the league office announced on Wednesday.
Hill earned golfer of the week honors, along with Eastern Michigan's Robyn Scott, after both players finished tied for second place at the Rio Verde Invitational on March 6. Hill has earned golfer of the week accolades after each of the Zips' two tournaments this spring.
Hill helped the Zips to a sixth-place finish at the 17-team Rio Verde Invitational, carding rounds of 72, 73 and 77 to finish tied for second place with a score of 222 (+6). The finish was her second top-five finish in two events this spring.
Throughout the invitational, Hill maintained a top-five standing, including a spot as the day two leader. She is carrying a 73.5 average through six rounds (two events) on the spring slate.
The golfer of the week honor is the sixth of Hill's career and second during the 2010-11 season. Two weeks ago, she earned golfer of the week after finishing tied for fifth place at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic on Feb. 22.
The Zips return to action next Monday, March 14-16, when they travel to Litchfield Park, Ariz., for the Lumberjack Shootout at Wigwam.
