AKRON, Ohio – Click the links below to follow media coverage of The University of Akron's hiring of Terry Bowden as its 27th head football coach. Bowden, who was a consensus national coach-of-the-year award recipient in 1993 at Auburn, was named to the post on Dec. 22.
He was formally introduced at a press conference on Dec. 28 at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field.
Bowden was head coach at Auburn from 1993-98 and spent the previous three seasons at Division II North Alabama, following 10 years as a television analyst for ABC Sports' college football. He owns a 140-62-2 record (69.3 winning percentage) over an 18-year coaching career.
