Akron to Host Consolation Rounds of Preseason WNIT

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron will host consolation rounds of the Preseason WNIT on Nov. 18 and 19, as announced on Saturday. The Zips will welcome Detroit, Drexel and Howard to James A. Rhodes Arena for a four-game slate. Akron moved into the consolation rounds of the tournament after suffering an 81-61 defeat at No. 2 Notre Dame on Nov. 11.
Detroit and Drexel will meet in the first round beginning at 5 p.m. ET Friday, and Akron and Howard will play in the 7:30 p.m. game that day. On Saturday, the winners of Friday's games will play each other, and the losers will play each other. Saturday's game times are 5 and 7:30 p.m., with Akron playing in the 7:30 p.m. game no matter if it wins or loses on Friday.
Tickets will be $6 for adults and $4 for youth ages 3-14. The first 125 students will receive free admission, and after that students can purchase tickets for $4 with a UA ID. One ticket will be good for both games on a single day.
