Rifle Championships at UA a Success

Earlier this month, all eyes of the national rile world were on
UA's Stile Athletics Field House as the facility hosted the 2007
NRA/Pyramid National Junior Air Gun Team Championship and Training
Summit.
"It was a huge honor to have the NRA national championships held in
such a premier facility as our field house," said UA rifle coach Newt
Engle, who helped organize the prestigious event. "Nearly 300
of the top rifle athletes in the nation experienced one of the
best-run championships ever held."
Junior shooters from all over the world with ages ranging from 10
to 20, competed in the state-of-the-art facility, which got an
opportunity to display its versatility. For the competition, the
Field House, which is the practice site for a number of teams,
including football and many spring sports, and is well regarded as
one of the premier indoor track and field facilities in the nation,
was transformed into an Olympic-style shooting range.
