Erin Pavlin was named as a graduate assistant in July 2023. Pavlin joins the Zips with nine years of coaching experience, including six years as a head coach at the club level.

Pavlin comes to Akron from Trinity Valley Community College in Texas, where she spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Lady Cardinals. She helped the program turn a conference record of 8-8 in her first season to a 16-0 conference finish in season two. In 2022, Pavlin helped TVCC to a first-place conference finish and Region 14 championship before they finished 8th in the country at the NJCAA National Tournament.Â

Pavlin also has nine seasons of club coaching experience, coaching for H2 out of St. Louis, MO, and Norco in Colorado. She led her 16-1 team to a 2016 Asics Junior National Championship while coaching at H2. During her six seasons at Norco, she led teams to medal at multiple USAV national qualifiers. While at Norco, Pavlin was privileged to learn under former Ohio State head coach Jim Stone. Throughout her time coaching at various levels, Erin has helped many athletes in their dream to pursue volleyball at the next level.

In addition to coaching club and junior college, Pavlin has provided private and small group lessons for six years. She has assessed and trained numerous players and has helped them improve their game.

Pavlin graduated from Columbia College in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Business administration, majoring in marketing and management. During her time as a student-athlete, Erin competed in two NAIA D1 national championship games, where she was part of National Championship runner-up teams in the 2010 and 2012 seasons. In her sophomore year (2011), the Columbia College volleyball team finished third in the NAIA and the top ten in her senior campaign. While at Columbia, Erin received All-Conference and All-Academic honors, including the Champions of Character Award in 2013. Currently, Pavlin is pursuing a Sports Science graduate degree.
