Gash, Villani and Wolf Earn All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Under the direction of head volleyball coach Tyson Norton, the Akron Zips earned three selections to the Volleyball All-MAC Teams, the conference office announced on Thursday, November 20.
Delaney Gash earned a first-team selection, Martina Villani was named to the second-team, and Lyndi Wolf was named to the All-Freshman team.
Gash became the first All-MAC First Team selection for Akron since Emily Weigand in 2019. Gash led the Zips with 452 kills, 4.00 kills per set, 495 points, while ranking third in digs with 239. She added 36 blocks, 23 assists and 20 kills. Gash finished the regular season ranked 2nd in the MAC in total kills (452), kills per set (4.00), total points (495) and points per set (4.38). At the conclusion of the regular season, she ranked 62nd in the NCAA in kills per set (4.00), 22nd in total points (495) and 16th in total kills (452).
Villani led the Blue and Gold in assists with 1,140 (9.74 per set) while ranking second in service aces (38). She ranked second in the MAC in total assists and assists while ranking 59th in the NCAA for assists per set and 6th for total assists at the conclusion of the regular season.
Wolf is the second Zip to be named to the All-MAC Freshman team in the past three seasons, joining Eliska Vytiskova (2023). She finished the season third on the team in kills (225) while leading Akron in hitting percentage (.308) and ranking 7th in the MAC.
