As a Junior (2008-09): Bombrys recorded 20 top five finishes in 2008-09, including a pair of first place finishes, winning the 1000-yard freestyle event against Marshall and the 100-yard butterfly against St. Francis...Tapped in at second in six different races, finishing second in the 100-yard butterfly against Youngstown State and Oakland, as well as a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle against St. Francis...Registered second-place marks against Marshall and Bowling Green in the 500-yard freestyle also finishing second in the 200-yard butterfly against Buffalo...Swam career-best times at the Mid-American Conference Championships in the 100-yard butterfly (57.82) and 200-yard butterfly (2:08.20), notching respective 20th and 19th places finishes in those events...Garnered Academic All-MAC Honorable Mention.
