AKRON, Ohio - The Akron swimming and diving team returns to action on Friday, October 31, when it battles Eastern Michigan.

The Zips are coming off a first-place finish at the Zips Classic, where they finished with 1,298 points.
For their efforts at the Zips Classic, Felicia Klintemar and Elizabeth Noble were respectively named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, October 14.
Klintemar wasted no time making a splash, picking up seven first-place finishes, helping the Zips set two meet records while finishing second and third in the season-opening Zips Classic.
Klintemar helped the Blue and Gold set meet records in the 200 and 400 MR. She swam 23.95 to help Akron reach a time of 1:38.77 in the 200 MR while swimming a time of 52.38 in the 400 MR to help the Zips finish with a time of 3:36.22. She took first place in the 200 IM (2:00.59), 100 Fly (53.06) and 100 Free (49.94). She helped the 800 FR team take first with a time of 1:38.77 and the 400 FR team take first with a time of 3:20.47. Â
Noble finished with a first-place finish in the 3-meter dive (274.70) while finishing third in the 1-meter dive (238.50).
The Eastern Michigan Eagles are coming off a tri-meet with Toledo and Illinois State. EMU defeated Illinois State while falling to conference foe Toledo.
