as a Freshman (2008-09): Named to the MAC All-Freshman Team (second Akron freshman in as many seasons to be so honored – Steve McNees in 2008) ... played in 35 out of a possible 36 games and was in the starting lineup in 30-straight contests ... 35 games played tied for the second most by a freshman in program history (Mike Bardo, 2007-08) ... double-figure minutes in all but three games ... led team in assists (78/2.2 apg), ranked second in steals (44/1.3 spg) and fourth in scoring (8.8 ppg) ... slowed by a left ankle sprain during the MAC Tournament and did not play in the semifinal versus Bowling Green (March 13) ... fought through that injury to score 10 points (4-of-6 field goal shooting and 2-of-2 3-point shooting) in 14 minutes off the bench in the MAC Tournament championship win over Buffalo (March 14) ... that was one of his 17 double-figure scoring games for the season ... had a career-high 23 points (7-of-13 field goal shooting and 6-of-8 3-point shooting) in a 78-61 win over NC A&T (Dec. 13) ... those 23 points tied for the second most by an Akron player for the season (Brett McKnight) ... 45 of his 107 field goals made were 3-pointers ... those 45 3-pointers made ranked as the fourth most by a freshman in program history ... his 139 3-pointers attempted ranked as the third most by a freshman in program history ... posted four or more assists in nine games, including six on two occasions (at Miami [Ohio] on Jan. 10 and at Ohio on Jan. 20) ... also logged a career-high 33 minutes in that Miami game ... led UA in scoring seven times (four-straight outings from Dec. 3-Dec. 17) and 15 times in the assists category.
at Chillicothe High School: As a senior, averaged 21.7 points, 6.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds, and team won the Division II state championship with a 25-2 record ... team finished the season ranked No. 2 in Division II by the Associated Press ... finished his career with 1,753 points ... earned a long list of awards during his senior season: First-Team All-Ohio, First-Team All-Southeast District, Southeast District Division II Player of the Year, All-SEOAL, SEOAL South Division Most Valuable Player, District 14 First Team, District 14 Player of the Year, District 14 North/South All-Star Game representative, school’s co-player of the year, school’s top 3-point shooting award winner and co-offensive player of the year ... averaged 18.5 points as a junior, and helped his team to a 20-4 record and an appearance in the state regional championship ... also as a junior, was named Second-Team All-Ohio, First-Team All-SEOAL and First-Team All-Southeast District.
