HOMECOMING IS HERE!
Following our Football program's biggest win in six years, our team is excited to return home to InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field, and we hope everyone affiliated with our University is just as excited to come back for our annual Homecoming contest. We'll kick off against Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, but there's plenty more happening before, during and after the football game, including:
- Our Alumni Association promoting an exclusive $10 ticket package that includes a discounted ticket, concessions voucher and t-shirt (while supplies last) – to purchase call 1-888-99-AKRON or visit the Chima Athletics Ticket Office by Gate 1 before the game.
- Our Fifth-Annual UA Faculty & Staff Tailgate, which includes a game ticket, pre-game tailgate from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Coleman Common, a t-shirt and raffle prizes for just $10. To purchase, call 330-972-6920 or come to the tailgate starting at noon.
- Our Track and Field program celebrates its 2013-14 season, highlighted by not one, but two NCAA individual champions, plus the Men's Indoor MAC Championship, at its annual banquet that morning.
- Our Men's Soccer team hosting UAB at 7 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field (click here for tickets, or bring your football ticket from earlier that day for a discounted soccer ticket).
- Our Women's Soccer team sandwiches Saturday with home games at 7 p.m. Friday vs. Eastern Michigan and noon Sunday vs. Bowling Green (click here for tickets).
- Our Women's Tennis team hosts the Akron Invitational at LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow.
- Our women's swimming and diving team as it travels to Bowling Green, Ohio, on Friday for the Tom Stubbs Relays (4 p.m.) and plays host to its annual Alumni Meet at Ocasek Natatorium on Saturday at 10 a.m.
As you can see, campus will be buzzing, so please join us and bring a friend!

Good luck to Men's and Women's Cross Country at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday, Women's Golf at the Nittany Lion Invitational this weekend and Volleyball, all on the road this weekend – and to Men's Golf, which makes the short drive from campus to its home course, Firestone Country Club, for the annual Firestone Invitational that begins Monday ...
OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE
Over the last few years we have exponentially grown our presence in social media, and this week we put a bow on our efforts in that space by rebranding our main Athletics Twitter account as @AkronZips. We have been working for a few years on acquiring that handle, and now it mirrors our Facebook page. If you already were following our @FollowTheRoo account, you don't need to do anything – you'll have the new handle with the same great content still in your feed. But we'd love for you to tell your followers to follow us!
All of our social media accounts can be found at our Social Media Directory. Also, don't forget to check out our Social Media Hub, which combines all of our accounts in one easy-to-use social media feed.
