AKRON, Ohio – Alice Hottensmith (Brunswick, Ohio) a senior on the women's swimming and diving team, was named the Zips' Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by the University of Akron, Ohio's Polytechnic University.
Alice Hottensmith swept the diving category at the Akron/Ball State/Toledo dual on Friday, Oct. 23. In the one-meter dive, Hottensmith was awarded a 289.40 from the judge's, good for first place. In three-meter dive, Hottensmith took first place with a score of 303.35.
With her scores Hottensmith has qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships on both boards. To qualify for the one-meter dive, a diver had to earn a minimum score of 265 (Hottensmith 289.40). To qualify for the three-meter dive, each diver needed a minimum score of 280 (Hottensmith 303.35).
Akron returns to the pool traveling to Ohio University on Friday, Oct. 30, for a dual against the Bobcats. The meet begins at 5 p.m.
