MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. --Â The Akron women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Robert Morris at North Athletic Complex on Sunday (Sept. 6).

The Zips trailed 1-0 at halftime as RMU attempted four shots in the opening 45-minutes with three on goal. Akron goalkeeper Sara Bower registered two saves for the game with both saves coming in the first frame.

Akron limited RMU to four shots in the second stanza, however none of the shots were on goal. On the other end of the field, the Zips applied pressure and created several opportunities to equalize the match. Akron attempted six shots in the final 45 minutes but could not find the back of the net.

Akron moved to 3-3-0 overall, while RUM improved to 2-3-1 on the season.

How it Happened
After the Colonials took a 1-0 lead into halftime, Akron kept Robert Morris off the scoreboard the remainder of the game. Sara Bower led Akron with two saves. The Zips registered six shots in the loss, none of them on goal. Akron faced eight Robert Morris shots, three of them on goal.
