AKRON, Ohio — The Akron men's soccer team will face Robert Morris on Tuesday, September 22 at 7 p.m. from FirstEnergy Stadium. It also marks Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night, where any University of Akron faculty & staff members will be recognized.
Akron (4-0-2) is coming off a scoreless draw against Butler in their BIG EAST opener and held a 22-4 shot advantage over the Bulldogs. They also had 10 corner kick opportunities compared to just one for Butler. Tyler Morck notched a team-high five shots, three of which were on goal.
Robert Morris comes into the matchup with a 4-2-2 record as a member of the Horizon League. Their last match was a 1-1 tie against Oakland on September 19. Anelson Azard is the Colonials' leading scorer with five goals, and the Tiffin transfer scored RMU's lone goal against the Grizzlies playing in 90 minutes for the first time this season.
The Zips are 9-1 all-time vs. the Colonials and have won each of the last seven meetings. Both squads last met in 2021, and Akron came away with a 3-0 victory at FirstEnergy Stadium. They have not allowed a goal against RMU since 1998, six meetings ago.
