AKRON, Ohio - Easton Amundson collected four RBI, but the Akron Zips fell to the Northern Illinois Huskies 8-6 on Saturday.

Amundson went 2-for-4 with a home run in addition to his four RBI for the Zips. Blake Bowen put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Brody Chrisman also helped out for Akron, adding three walks.

Jeremiah Newman (0-2) came out of the bullpen for Akron (16-23, 6-14) and took the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 3-0, the Zips first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Akron's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a three-run home run off the bat of Amundson.

The Huskies then rallied to score four runs and take a 7-4 lead before the Zips got back on the board in the eighth. Amundson's run-scoring single highlighted an inning where Akron scored twice, which tightened the Huskies lead to 7-6. The Zips were unable to get any closer, as Northern Illinois added one run to their tally on the way to an 8-6 final.
