AKRON, Ohio - The Akron baseball team heads to Bowling Green to battle the Falcons for a three-game series starting on Thursday, April 2.

Brennan Morgan hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to secure the win. Morgan finished the day against YSU with four hits, one double, two runs and three RBI. Brody Chrisman also recorded four hits while scoring once. Gabe Mathison and Tucker Biehl joined the multi-hit party with two each. Atticus Huffstutler notched a grand slam with his lone hit of the day.
Chrisman leads the Zips in average (.347), runs scored (22), hits (35), is tied with Morgan in doubles (9), is second in RBI (24) and leads the team in stolen bases (15). Easton Amundson holds the lead for home runs (5), while four Zips have hit one triple each. Blake Bowen leads the squad in walks (33).
On the mound, Brady Bowen leads the staff with a 3-0 record in eight appearances and 23.2 innings of work with a 1.14 ERA, a 0.80 WHIP and a .182 average against. Floyd McKenna leads the way in appearances (13) and strikeouts (23) and is tied with Taylor Bednar for saves (2). Elijah Griffith holds the top mark in innings pitched (36.2).
As a team, Akron is hitting .262 with 177 runs scored on 226 hits. The Zips have 152 RBI, 52 doubles, four triples and 18 home runs. The Zips are 68-of-79 on stolen bases this season. The Blue and Gold's pitching staff has allowed 208 runs, 174 earned, while striking out 185 and walking 163.Â
