AKRON, Ohio - The Akron Zips struggled on Friday, falling to the Toledo Rockets by a final score of 13-1.
Offensively, the Zips were led by Kelton Phillips, who went 1-for-3 on the day with an RBI.
Josiah Ross (2-3) got the ball to start for Akron (11-13, 4-6) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 8-0, the Zips first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Akron got an RBI single from Phillips, scoring Tucker Biehl from second base. The Zips were unable to get any closer, as Toledo added five runs to their tally on the way to a 13-1 final.
