Daphne Van Son Fires 4-under Opening Round Score, Zips 12th after 36 Holes

West Lafayette, Ind. – Daphne Van Son led the Akron scoring through the initial 18-holes of play with a career-best 4-under par 68 as the Zips carded 295-310 – 605 (+29) total for 36 holes at the Boilermaker Spring Classic hosted by Purdue.
After 18 holes of play, van Son was tied at the top of the player's leaderboard, recording a nearly flawless 18-hole round at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course (par 72, 6,212 yards). Van Son tallied five birdies and 12 par scores with one bogey. She is currently tied for 29th on the leaderboard after a second-round 81 (+9) ledger, entering the final round with a 149 (+5) total.
Maisarah Hezri posted a 1-over par 73 initial round and followed with a 77 (+5) score for a 150 (+6) total. She currently ranks second in team scoring for Akron and tied for 33rd overall on the leaderboard.
Emily Liptak was third in scoring for Akron with a 152 (+8) on rounds of 75 (+3) and 77 (+5) scores. Liptak is tied for 45th on the leaderboard.
