Boyd Named MAC Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE WOMEN'S LACROSSE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Akron redshirt senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) was honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (March 18).
Boyd turned in a strong week for the Zips registering five goals, two assists, eight shots on goal, eight draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers.
She helped the Zips open Mid-American Conference play with a come-from-behind 14-13 victory at Youngstown State recording a game-high five goals on the strength of seven shots, all on goal, while adding five draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover. Two of her goals came in the second half, including the game-winner with 1:15 left in regulation.
Earlier in the week at Rider, she posted a pair of assists to go along with two shots, three draw controls and one caused turnover.
Akron returns to action with a road test at Radford on Wednesday (March 19) at 2 p.m. ET.
